AUSTIN (KXAN) - The violence that kicked off the New Year in Austin and the fact that a suspect hasn't been arrested in the murder of Esme Barrera, are prompting some extra interest in self-defense these days.

Due to the high-profile crimes, a few organizations decided to partner together and form a free class.
