Art Exhibit: The Greatest Human Cylindrical Machine

DAVENPORT, IOWA - July 30, 2011 | Sculptor Eric Mart hosted a multi-media art show themed around what he calls the Greatest Human Cylindrical Machine, the bicycle, at his Sol Iron art gallery in Downtown Davenport. This was the weekend that the statewide bike ride RAGBRAI, completed its week long event only blocks away from the live-work space gallery here, thus the theme. Objects exhibited include hand crafted one of a kind bikes by artist/engineers Dean Wright and Cliff _____, and an 1894 "pick" by Antique Archeologist and American Picker, Mike Wolfe. Paintings by Glen Boyles, Tony Seabolt and Reagan Hatfield with bicycling themes were joined by bike framed photo installations and bike frame inspired lighting installations
