Now that we’re back in the AC with running water, with the first layer of grime and humidity washed thoroughly down the drain, down the drain, we can look back to last week and say YAY!!! for another year of Flipside! Thanks to the participants for bringing it, being it, and enjoying it!

Big thanks to all the volunteers for making things work and to DaFT for the effigy! Volunteers wanting to have the most impact should contact their leads or AFs to fill out an Afterburn report so their knowledge and experience can be built into the next event.

We aren’t quite done yet, though. We need lots of volunteers to help tomorrow (Saturday!) for Load-Out!

MOOP Cleanup & Burn Scar Healing
If you want to help, you can arrive as early as 8am at the land. Expect serious work to get rolling by 9am. Early is good to get as much done before the sun roasts everything. Bags and gloves will be provided, but bring the gear you feel comfortable using. Definitely bring grabbers to get stuff off the ground without risking lifting injuries. First come, first served donuts provided to cleaning crews. Pizza will be available around noon.

Infrastructure Return
Meet on the land at 10am. The trucks should arrive by then. We need lots of hands to load shade, Safety HQ, signs, ïçê, DaFT, and all the other gear that we use to make Flipside go. Bring gloves and wise lifting techniques that utilize your legs (not your back).
Pizza will be available around noon.

The land conditions on Saturday will likely be wet and muddy. Please arrive prepared! Drive and park carefully only on the roads. Regular vehicles should park outside the cattle guard fence line (before crossing into the main property) in the green area. Only offroad 4x4 vehicles can park inside the cattle guard fence line in the red area. Don't park along County Road 428 or deep inside the land like we usually do.

Unloading Trucks at Lloyd
Meet at the Warehouse around noon to help get all the things off the trucks and into their rightful places. Bring gloves and that sexy legs-not-back lifting style. Pizza should be available between 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

Curious about the numbers? Got some important feedback? The Combustion Chamber meets virtually on May 18th, starting at 7:30 pm, for the traditional post-burn meeting. The community is invited to attend to share their thoughts, suggestions, high-fives, and criticisms. If you can't attend, the Chamber meets next on June 15th and July 20th.
