• From 2010 through 2012, guns were involved in 2,323 of 9,953 of the aforementioned cases.

• The majority of the 98 homicides during that time period happened east of Interstate 35, and 39 of those cases involved a firearm.

• The majority of rapes involving firearms — a gun was used in 19 of 675 cases — happened in Central and South Austin.
