The first Amtrak Airo trains are scheduled to officially debut in passenger service on September 30, 2026, on the Amtrak Cascades route. Manufactured by Siemens in Sacramento, this nationwide modernization program introduces 83 advanced trainsets designed to expand capacity, improve reliability, and completely refresh the passenger experience. Launch & Rollout Timeline

• Initial Phase (September 30, 2026): The rollout begins in the Pacific Northwest on the Amtrak Cascades Route. Two initial trainsets will handle four daily trips linking Vancouver, B.C., Seattle, Portland, and Eugene, Oregon. [1, 2]
