Fifty years after the Sex Pistols, Ramones, Patti Smith and Nina Hagen helped launch a global movement, Punk is still shaping music, culture and politics around the world.

DW reporter Annika Sost explores Berlin's legendary punk scene to find out why Punk continues to inspire new generations. From London's economic crisis in the 1970s to today's struggles with rising rents, climate anxiety and political frustration, the message of Punk remains surprisingly relevant.

Along the way, Annika meets Punk historian and musician John Robb, visits the iconic SO36 club in Berlin, explores the legacy of Vivienne Westwood, and talks to South Korean Punk band Rumkicks about what Punk means in 2026.
