Lizard Lounge: Historic North Texas Building Awaits Demolition

A historic building in North Texas is slated for demolition before the 2026 year ends.

The building, located at 2424 Swiss Ave. in Dallas, is set to be demolished in the coming weeks. The 104-year-old structure was once home to the Lizard Lounge, a beloved music venue that shut its doors five years ago. The building, erected in 1920, has been listed as sold according to a profile on ReMax.

“RIP to Lizard Lounge! Can’t believe it is getting torn down,” Melissa Zarate, a social media user, posted on X.
