In an Instagram post on Monday, March 9, event organizers paid their respects to Richard A. Martinez, an Oyster Bake volunteer of 35 years who "recently passed away."
Proceeds raised during the event, which takes place April 17-18 this year, go to St. Mary's University students through scholarships and programs. According to the post, Martinez "played a key role in helping increase revenue designated for student college scholarships" as a booth chairman.
