CHOLULA, MEXICO

Cholula is just 20 minutes outside the city of Puebla and about two hours from Mexico City.

Cholula (Spanish: [tʃoˈlula] , officially Cholula de RivadaviaMezquital OtomiMä'ragi),[2] is a city and district located in the metropolitan area of PueblaMexico.[3] Cholula is best known for its Great Pyramid, with the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios sanctuary on top, as well as its numerous churches.

It’s a small, historic town famous for its massive pyramid (yes, the largest pyramid by volume in the world!) with a beautiful church built right on top.

The weather here is mild all year. Think warm sunny days, cooler evenings, and very little humidity- which helps with mosquitos and bugs.

It’s the kind of climate where you can enjoy walking around town, eating outside, and NOT needing air conditioning. If you hate extreme heat or freezing winters, you’ll love Cholula’s balance.

Rent is very affordable compared to the U.S. or Canada. You can expect to pay around:

  • $400–$700 USD/month for a furnished 1-bedroom apartment

  • $700–$900 USD/month for a furnished 2-bedroom apartment

Of course, prices depend on location and amenities, but overall you’ll get great value for your money.

And to help you understand what makes this town so special, I want you to check out my latest video on what living in Cholula is truly like.
