TAKE PRECAUTIONS 

Travis County, free rabies vaccinations for feral cats are available through the Austin Humane Society's Community Cat Program. Austin Animal Center (AAC) also provides free spay/neuter surgeries, microchips, and rabies vaccines for community cats through their Shelter-Neuter-Return (SNR) and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs. 
Rabies vaccine bait is a method of oral vaccination for wildlife, particularly raccoons, to control the spread of rabies. The bait is designed to be attractive to the target wildlife, like raccoons, and is typically a blister pack filled with a rabies vaccine. The vaccine bait is then distributed by various methods, such as aerial drops or ground placement, to be consumed by the wildlife.

National Grievance and Unfair Labor Practice Update


On May 22, NTEU filed a national grievance against the IRS based on violations of Article 5, Employee Rights, Section 5.B, which allows employees to withdraw a resignation at any time before its effective date. These requests were sent to the IRS-created “Separation” email site. The IRS may only deny a withdrawal request for legitimate reasons, which it has not provided.

 

As the next step in the process, NTEU requested a step meeting in accordance with the contract. We will vigorously prosecute this grievance and keep you updated.

 

In the meantime, to assist us in prosecuting this grievance, NTEU is seeking this information from impacted employees:   

 

1.      (a) The name, SCD, appointment type, series, Division and POD of the employee who requested withdrawal of their resignation; (b) the date or dates on which they submitted the withdrawal request, to whom or what it was transmitted; and (c) a description of the circumstances surrounding their request. 

 

2.      Any documents, emails or other writings that reflect the employee’s request to withdraw their resignation and any other related emails or correspondence with the Separations email site, managers, and/or chapter stewards. 

 

Please submit this information to National Negotiator Dani Parker at the email address below by no later than June 27, 2025. In addition, send any questions, comments or concerns you may have regarding this matter to National Negotiator Dani Parker at dani.parker@nteu.org or to Deputy Director of Negotiations Rani Rolston at rani.rolston@nteu.org.
